This was a locomotive manufacturing company created by the amalgamation of the Forth Banks Locomotive works of R and W Hawthorn, Leslie and Company Ltd. with Robert Stephenson & Company Ltd. in 1937; it became a subsidiary of the Vulcan Foundry Ltd. in 1943.
