- Labour Party and trade union papers, including letter from George Lansbury, letter from Ernest Bevin regarding Brown's appointment as Area no. 1 General Trades Organiser, and papers relating to wages. 1937-1940
- Trade union papers, including papers relating to wages, correspondence, and list of branch secretaries and shop stewards. 1940-1944
- Political correspondence, including letters from Hugh Dalton, Arthur Deakin, Mont Follick, Tom Williams, George Dallas, Alan Cunliffe, Jock Tiffin, Frank Cousins, Herbert Bowden, Emile Bustani, Winston Churchill, and Harold Collison. Also includes note on breakfast and luncheon in the House of Commons for the Coronation of Elizabeth II, notification of Brown being sworn a Privy Councillor, and notification of Brown being sworn Minister of Works and First Commissioner of Works and Public Buildings. 1951-1958
- Papers, including correspondence, memoranda, reports and speech notes. Subjects include Europe, trade and industry, economic planning and policy, the Labour Party manifesto, defence expenditure, building, agriculture, Histadrut [General Federation of Labour in Israel], symposium "The Future of the Atlantic Alliance", the 1964 and 1966 general elections, pay of Members of Parliament, overseas aid, the 1963 Labour Party leadership election, North East Development Council, NATO, and television. Correspondents include James Callaghan, Basil Liddell Hart, Robert Maxwell, Patrick Gordon Walker, Thomas Balogh, Frank Cousins, Hugh Gaitskell, Herbert Bowden and Gerald Kaufman. 1960-1967
