Hugo Brunner was the Managing Director of Chatto & Windus, publishers, until 1985, and many of the letters concern Cobb's literary work, literary figures and people associated with the University of Oxford, particularly Balliol College where Cobb had been a fellow for ten years, 1962-1972.
