Philip Allison's diaries comprising:
- Diary covering April 1936-July 1945 with many gaps. Includes notes on the social organisation of the Nigerian city of Ado Ekiti, Owa festivals, notes from a book and poems.
- Diary of trips to Sierra Leone and Ghana in 1947, Morocco and Spain in 1950 and the Cameroon mountains in 1951. With notes on books.
- Diary of visits to Puddletown and Wareham Forests, Dorset, England, in 1948, Fernando Po in 1954, Lagos, Rome, Nice, Toulon and London in 1954, Lagos, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi in 1958.
- Diary of visit to the Cameroon mountains with Ronnie Leslie, 1950. Notebook also contains notes from late 19th and early 20th century sources on West Africa.
- Diary covering trip to London, Paris, Algiers and Kano in 1952. With notes at end of diary on 'Baikie's Last Expedition, 1857-1863' [William Balfour Baikie (1825-1864), traveller in West Africa].
- Diary covering trips to Ibadan, Malta and Provence in 1956, Nairobi, Entebbe and London in 1958 (continuation of account in diary 3), and Ibadan and Timbuktu in 1958-1959.
- Diary of trip to Delphi and the Peloponnes, Greece, in 1965.
- Diary of Tarkwa Shara [?] Dig in 1965-1966 and Orkney trip in 1977.
