The receipt entries give the same information as the receipts of the Exchequer (MS. Eng. hist. c. 1312), but they are grouped under headings indicating the sources of royal revenue, including fines, taxes, debts, rents, sales of land, impositions and compositions.

The entries are arranged half-yearly beginning at Easter or Michaelmas, so that the entries under Easter include Trinity term and entries under Michaelmas include Epiphany term.
