Pensions Policy Group, Mar 1965-Mar 1969
The group first met 15 March 1965, 'to consider the best way of ensuring that the pensions of retired public servants are maintained at a reasonable level, bearing in mind the need not to impose too great a burden on the taxpayer, to consider the general principles of the public service pensions schemes including the relative merits of the contributory and non-contributory principles, and to make any other recommendations arising from their considerations.'
Members included Lord Aldington, Paul Dean, Gilbert Longden, Anthony Royle, Irene Ward, Maurice Macmillan, Anthony Kershaw, Lord Newton and John Cope.
