These papers were received by the Oxford Colonial Records Project in 19 folders all marked "Miscellaneous". They were probably selected from territorial files as being of interest when other papers were destroyed, and have been re-filed under territorial headings. On some papers dates were inscribed in ink but these are not always correct.

The papers consist of correspondence between the Colonial Office and the Overseas Nursing Association, including copies of despatches between governors and secretaries of state for the colonies, about various appointments and conditions of service in the various territories, related notes and memoranda, and letters from nurses to the secretary of the Overseas Nursing Association describing their work in these territories. Other topics and papers are noted below.
