Comprises:

  1. Packet of four samples of hair dated 20 January 1868 [corrected from 1878] and inscribed 'The straight bit is Jack's the long Connie's & the lightest Willie's - & the wee wee bit is the wee wee Bab's. Keep a bit of Willie's for yourself & divide the rest if they are cared for'. The hair is from the children of Matilda Caroline, 3rd daughter of William Henry Fox Talbot, and John Gilchrist-Clark: John Henry 'Jack' Gilchrist-Clark (1861-1902); Constance Gilchrist-Clark (b. 1863), later Stewart; William 'Willie' Gilchrist-Clark (1865-1935)
  2. A sterling silver and mother-of-pearl ink pen hallmarked Chester, 1907-1908, maker unclear, separated from the box of seals at MS. WHF Talbot objects 101
