Survey of the manor of Shipton-under-Wychwood, 1564-1660
Survey of the manor of Shipton-under-Wychwood belonging to Sir Rowland Lacye, taken by Henry Bransbye, 1617. At fol. iv is a survey of the manor of Langley [in Shipton] of 1610, and at fol. vi a copy of a lease from the Crown of lands previously belonging to St. Mary's Guild, Burford, 1564. At fol. 105v are copies of documents relating to Chadlington hundred, including (fol. 107) a list of 'free suitors to the hundred Court ... holden everie 3 weekes & their suit fynes', n.d., in the same hand as (fol. 108v) a list of rents due to Rowland Lacy from places within the hundred, 1660. At fol. 113v is a list of deeds of the Buckinghamshire properties of the Fettiplace family 'remayning in my Closett in the dubble cubberd', and at fol. 109v in the same hand a list of Oxfordshire deeds headed 'In the boxe at Cornburye deedes lefte', n.d., probably c. 1615 when Cornbury was sold by Sir Francis Fortescue [vii + 116 leaves].
