Exercise book containing Mabel's diary entries for two separate cycling holidays in the Cotswolds, staying in Youth Hostels, illustrated with watercolour paintings and pen-and-ink sketches of buildings and rural scenes. Comprises:

  1. (fols. 1-23r) 'Two wheels apiece in the Cotswolds: Nine Days With Roger', and later annotated, 'The year I discovered the Y.H.A.' Mabel records a holiday with her son Roger, Aug 1947. They rode from Oxford to Charlbury, Rollright Stones, Long Compton, Shipston-on-Stour, Idlicote, Shottery, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Bidford-on-Avon, Willersey, Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Lower Swell, Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Minster Lovell and back to Oxford.
  2. (fols. 23v-29v) 'Three Days with Margaret', record of a cycling holiday with her daughter, Margaret, Sep 1947. They cycled from Oxford to Woodstock, Salford, Chipping Campden, Upper Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Charlbury, North Leigh and back to Oxford.
