Childhood and children’s book ephemera, c.1665-1970s, collected by the Opies, including manuscript books by and for children, notebooks and diaries by children or with references to childhood, nursery rhymes and related subjects, drawings and (children’s books) illustrations, a collection of copy books, exercise books and school ephemera, and (merchandise) objects and printed ephemera relating to children’s books. The bulk of the material originally came to the Bodleian Library in 1988 with the Opie’s collection of children’s books as 'Section X: Mss and Original Art Work'. Relevant material from the Opie archive was added in 2017.
