Peter Opie scrapbooks and notes, 1937-1979, 1992
Scrapbooks compiled by Peter Opie in the late 1930s and throughout the 1940s, containing mainly press cuttings, but also photographs, printed memorabilia and notes. Two scrapbooks mainly relate to friends, family, autobiography and other personal topics, whilst the others more broadly reflect Peter Opie's interest in contemporary events, politics, society, culture, sports and entertainment. Two 1940s scrapbooks relating specifically to nursery rhymes, and to folklore and traditions, are now part of B. Working Papers as MSS. Opie 161-162. Also includes Peter Opies personal notebooks and loose notes.
