As a theoretician, Peierls left relatively little in the way of research notes or data, or of the mathematical calculations related to a specific problem. Much of his thinking is incorporated in correspondence and successive redrafting for projected papers, sometimes over an extended period and involving one or more collaborators. The material below comprises several such topics, presented in alphabetical order, following the titles or descriptions on Peierls's original folders. They are linked wherever possible to published work.

A little material relating to lectures and teaching appears at MS. 11619/22/B.40-43.

Some shorter sequences of notes are at MS. 11619/22/B.44-47.
