Papers relating to Edgar Wind's time in New York, 1939-1942, and to lectures given in the USA, 1939-1955, including:
- Folder 1: Notes by Margaret Wind on Edgar Wind's academic activities, and his relationship with the Warburg Institute, during his first years in the USA (1939-1942); lecture lists and overviews for c.1939-1949. Also includes original box contents list [I, 7].
- Folder 2: 'New York, 1939-1942': Papers relating to Edgar Wind's early years in the USA, mainly correspondence about lectures, and about potential academic posts, including Dumbarton Oaks, Pierpont Morgan Library, New York University Institute of Fine Arts, Frick Collection, Washington Society of the Fine Arts, Yale University, University of Buffalo, Metropolitan Museum of Art, c.1939-1942; newspaper cuttings and biographical articles relating to Frederic Prokosch and Cecil Roberts, with some references to Edgar Wind, 1974-1989 and n.d.; correspondence between Edgar Wind and Margaret Kellner, later Wind, 1940-1948 and n.d. [I, 7, i].
- Folder 3: 'Lectures 1943-1955': Correspondence and papers relating to Edgar Wind's lectures given throughout the USA, including Metropolitan Museum of Art, Swarthmore College, Harvard University, Signet Society, Colby College, Connecticut College, Mary Lund Smith, Rutgers University, Syracuse University, Johns Hopkins University, Mount Holyoke College, St. John's College, Museum of Modern Art New York, Smith College, Yale University, University of Delaware, Princeton University, c.1943-1955. Also includes invitations to lecture, or to write articles, which Edgar Wind refused, c.1940-1955.
