Contents of a file inscribed as 'MESC 1942-44 Important top-level correspondence'.

Nicholson's correspondence with R.G.A. Jackson (later Sir Robert Jackson), Director-General of the Middle East Supply Centre, Cairo, Egypt, with related papers.

Included are copies of letters to other individuals including S.A. Bailey, Principal Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Transport. The correspondence, especially a number of long letters by Jackson, covers the full scope of the Centre's activities, as well as matters such as Anglo-American relations within it, economic issues in the Middle East, and UK and USA policy objectives in the region. Only one letter is dated 1945.
