Geogram, 1937, 1971-1997
Sub-Series
The Geogram was created by Nicholson in the early 1970s in connection with the development of the International Biological Programme Terrestrial Communities Section's world data centre at Monks Wood. It was a device for presenting, in a visual and standardised form, a complex series of data relating to the occurrence of all natural and artificial features on the earth. It represented the first comprehensive and global method for assembling, analysing and interpreting data on land and resources for scientific purposes and decision-making.
