'Lord Alanbrooke and Edward Grey', 1945, 1955-1958
MS. 15041/1603 and MS. 15041/1604 comprise two separate envelopes of correspondence which were originally in a larger enveope inscribed 'Lord Alanbrooke and Edward Grey'.

One letter only is dated 1945, this was sent from Alanbrooke in the War Office to Nicholson, who was at the Potsdam Conference (Jul-Aug), regarding Nicholson's bird list compiled in Germany (a copy of the list is included).

Biographical / Historical
Alanbrooke was Chief of the Imperial General Staff during World War Two. He was a friend of Nicholson's and a keen ornithologist.
