Bird Notes Scotland, 1935-1973, n.d.
Sub-Series
Contents of an envelope inscribed as 'Bird Notes Scotland'; Draft articles and bird lists etc relating to a number of Nicholson's ornithological surveys in Scotland; and Papers relating to bird investigations in northern Scotland, May and Jun 1939.
Nicholson and J.S. Huxley were members of a group of ornithologists which visited a number of Scottish islands, including the St Kilda group, the Orkneys, the Shetlands and the Hebrides, and parts of Sutherland. The visits were made in connection with the world census of gannets; investigations of fulmars and guillemots were also carried out. A publication appears to have resulted from the studies.
