The London Silver Jubilee Walkway was created in 1977 by the London Celebrations Committee for the Queen's Silver Jubilee, of which Nicholson was Chairman of the Environmental Committee. He was Honorary Advisor to the subsequent Silver Jubilee Walkway Trust.
