The Dartington Hall Trust was founded by Leonard and Dorothy Elmshirst who bought the Dartington Hall estate near Totnes in 1925. The Trust is a pioneering charity which adopts a holistic approach to culture and education, focusing on the arts, environmental sustainability and social justice. Dartington Hall School, which embodied the Trust's values, was founded in 1926 and closed in 1987.
