16mm film: 'Food for Tomorrow', 1967
Made for Oxfam's 25th anniversary campaign of the same name, this film shows the plight of poor people in underdeveloped countries who have no hope, and how Oxfam is needed so that the work of development can go on. By giving people in underdeveloped countries the benefit of the developed world's experience they can help themselves. Agencies like Oxfam need to give long-term support to poor people, and need regular contributions so that they can plan ahead, give long-term and continuing support to development projects thereby ensuring their success. Footage of Oxfam's work overseas includes Ecuador radio schools for poor peasants in the mountains, in Kenya, Turkhana famine camps, fishing on Lake Rudolph, and advice on water conservation to farmers, agricultural training schools in Guyana and water drilling rigs in Africa.
