There is a pencil mark in the left edge, likely made by Talbot to identify which side was sensitized.
On the reverse of the album leaf, written in pencil, is "Fox Talbot established photographic works at Reading & in 1844 commenced the publication of "The Pencil of Nature" the first book of photographic pictures".
There is only one other known print of this image.
