Folder 1: Correspondence of Michael Caine relating to research into the history of Booker and proposals for a publication, c.1979-1998. Correspondents include M. Williamson, 1989-1991 (with photographs, photocopies and transcripts of historical documents), The Business History Unit at the London School of Economics, 1988-1996, and various publishers, consultants and researchers. Also includes outlines and proposals for research into the Booker history.
Folder 2: Articles about the history of Booker, and reminiscences by Booker employes of their work life, 1959-1998. Includes a published article by Jock Campbell, The Development and Organisation of Bookers, 1995; paper 'A Brief History of Booker McConnell Limited', 1968; reminiscences of Jim Crichton about working in British Guiana, 1998. Also includes notes by Michael Caine, and drafts, on the history of Booker, and on the research project, 1996 and n.d.; outline synopsis of a proposed book 'The Bookers Story' and drafts of some chapters, 1996.
