The Macmillan archive was used extensively while compiling Macmillan's six volumes of memoirs from 1964 to 1973. Most of the research files contain material removed from their original boxes for use in the memoirs by researchers Anne Glyn-Jones and David Dilkes. Readers interested in a particular date or subject should check the memoirs research files for corresponding material. The original box number, from which they were removed, is occasionally marked on the papers. The dates reflect the dates of the original files, but may also contain later notes.
