- One letter from Queen Victoria to her mother, 1849, and letters addressed to the 4th Earl by (or on behalf of) Queen Victoria [some pencilled dates on these letters were written by editors: partially published in The Letters of Queen Victoria, ed. A.C. Benson and Lord Esher, 3 vols., 1st series, 1907], mostly giving her views on a wide range of foreign policy issues, 1849, 1852-1855
- Six letters by King Leopold (1853-1862), including one written a month after the death of Prince Albert, with letters from other royals including Princess Alice (including one letter also written soon after Albert’s death in December 1861); Victoria, Crown Princess of Prussia (November 1861); Princess Helena (1866); the Honorable Charles Grey, on behalf of Queen Victoria (1869); 1853-1866, 1869
