fols. 1-91: Reports from Loveridge and a few from Gass, Acting Chief Regional Officer.

These reports, sent at roughly fortnightly intervals, are concerned primarily with the state of tension in Ashanti, giving detailed information about acts of violence and other occurrences. They deal also with the growth of the National Liberation Movement; the cocoa price controversy; problems of labour and local government; and Sir Frederick Bourne's visit to Ashanti in November 1955.
