A volume of copies of Greek and Latin Inscriptions, made up of four pieces, some of which were perhaps not in Montagu's possession:

  1. (fol. 2) Greek and Latin Inscriptions on the towers, walls, and monuments of Constantinople, copied by the rev. T. H. Walpole in 1829-30: at fol. 3 is a letter from him to dr. B. Bandinel, Dec. 10, 1834.
  2. (fol. 26) Some Latin Inscriptions in Central and South Italy, with one Greek, copied in the first half of the 18th century, partly from a collection by Franciscus Valetta.
  3. (fol. 35) 'Auctarium Inscriptionum Veterum', a neat copy of Latin Inscriptions chiefly from Lucania, presented to J. P. D'Orville by the writer Theophilus Maurus. Artt. 2, 3, and 4 seem properly to be part of the D'Orville collection.
  4. (fol. 42) 'Antique Inscriptiones [Latine] addende ad Tabulas Sicilie Georgij Gualterij': at fol. 48 more Sicilian Inscriptions follow, many Greek, and at fol. 80 a letter from le perè Bouhier to D'Orville, April 19, 1733, in French.
