Landin's work papers have been retained in their original order and sequence, and could be roughly grouped into the following sub-series:

subject files, relating to all aspects of Landin's working life which he organised under themes and titles
technical work, research and projects
collected and annotated publications of other academics, with some notes and correspondence regarding collaborations
papers relating to Landin's work and involvement with institutions in his capacity as computer scientist, academic, researcher and member of various groups - most specifically the International Federation for Processing Information Working Group on ALGOL (IFIP WG 2.1).

Due to the nature of Landin's papers, there is some overlap between sub-series, particularly subject files and technical notes and work.
