Volume containing three printed works, Latin translation by J. Perionius of Aristotle's Politics (Paris, 1574), Jacobus Carpentarius, Compendium in communem artem disserendi (Paris, 1573), and Nicholas de Grouchy, Disputatio de locorum dialecticorum inventione (Paris, 1573), with extensive contemporary notes in Latin, on some inserted leaves and on many printed pages, by Modestin Vallambert 'Delphinatus' including a continuous commentary on Carpentarius, and notes by Vallambert from lectures by Joannes Greionius on Ovid's Ibis, 1571, on 18 leaves inserted at the end. Bound in part of a 16th-cent. French deed.
Inscribed on front pastedown 'quartre [?] No iijc xii' followed by a paraphe mark, 18th cent., and on fol. i 'Ex libris Modestini Vallamberti et amicorum' and '-[?] N° 200', 18th cent.; bought by Bywater from Claudin, item 2773 in a catalogue of 1901; Bywater nos. 437, 781, 1529 and 2439b.
