Custodial History

A and D are from Thomas Gale's octavo edition of the psalter in Greek and Latin (Oxford, 1678) inlaid in folio sheets on which the other versions are written. D was collated with the Gallican text printed in the Quincuplex psalterium of J. Lefevre d'Étaples (Paris, 1508 and 1513), and with the revised version of the Vulgate printed in 1592. E ends in the middle of Psalm 5. F was 'written out of the original MSS', in which the prologues, copied on fols. 1-2, had peculiarities not recorded by J. Forshall and F. Madden in any manuscript collated for The Holy Bible ... in the earliest English versions ... by John Wycliffe ..., 4 vols. (Oxford, 1850).

Fols. 335-57 contain collations from the copy of the Greek psalter (Venice, 1486) owned by Thomas Marshall (now Bodleian, [pr. bk.] Auct. M. inf. 1.2), with readings in Walton's Polyglot and with the texts of Morinus (Paris, 1628) and Gale (Oxford, 1678), transcribed by John Ayray.
