Besides the papers of other officers, those of the Director of the Society appear in this section (D10 / 12 (file 5)). This honorary office was created to give locus standi to C. W. W. Greenidge during the years when, after his resignation as Secretary on 1 January 1956, he continued to represent the Society at the United Nations. It was not continued after his retirement in 1968.

The general correspondence of the Secretary and his assistants (D10 / 14-24) covers almost all aspects of the work of the Society. During the years 1959-1962, the correspondence was divided into files called "Individuals in the UK", coded D12, and "Individuals Abroad", coded D11. These files have been left as they were arranged by the Society, but it will be found that they include correspondence with organizations as well as individuals and that the distinction between the UK and abroad is blurred. During 1962 the Society reverted to an alphabetic arrangement of correspondence, the files being described simply as "General".
