There are twenty-three books in this group numbered E4 / 1-23. Apart from two early British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society account books, dated 1846-1850 and 1866-1868, the bulk of this group belongs to the years 1898-1941. Before 1909 they all belong to the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society except for one Aborigines Protection Society cash-book (E4 / 6) which was begun in 1907 and continued after the amalgamation of the two societies. This shows that the full account books of that Society were destroyed at the same time as all but one of its minute books.
