A history of the city and suburbs of Gloucester, apparently a copy by a clerk from archdn. Furney's papers, occasionally corrected by the author. The date '1749' is prefixed. The volume contains the civil part of the work (bounds, officers, schools, privileges, benefactors, eminent natives, and general annals and topography).
The whole work is rather a compilation than a history, and contains many copies of monuments, lists of incumbents and the like.
Dr. Furney's name nowhere occurs. The binding consists of parchment deeds in English, of about A.D. 1700.
