'A playne and manifest Confutation of the englishe protestant Religion ... with lycence, 2 Februar. 1604' or 'A manifest Confutation of all Articles in the englishe protestant Religion, sett forth ... vnder Q. Elizabeth ...', in 45 chapters with a table of contents and two prefaces, one of which is dated 'Dec. 31, 1603', and both signed 'R. B.', i.e. Richard Broughton (d. 1634/5), to whom the treatise is ascribed in a contemporary hand on fol. ii. At fol. 231v is an imprimatur of June 14, 1604, signed by 'Georgius Blakwellus, Archipresbyter AngliƦ.' The body of the work is in a clerk's hand, but the titles, first preface and many corrections and additions are the author's autograph.
