'The character of Sr Martin Barnham Knight, written by his son Sr Francis, who was the father of the Lady Salkeld, in whose Closet it was found after her death. whereof this is a true Copy': beg. 'Considering with my self.' The original was written in or shortly before 1630 (see fol. 7r: Sir Martin died in 1610).
