Strafford papers, Written about 1739 by Dr. Wm. Knowler and others
Strafford papers, transcribed from the originals at Wentworth Wood-house by or for Dr. William Knowler (d. 1773), who edited in 1739 two volumes of letters of Thomas Wentworth, 1st earl of Strafford, prefaced (fol. 4) by an account of the collection and table of contents by prof. C. H. Firth. The papers are arranged as follows:
- Fol. 7. Papers published in 1895 by prof. C. H. Firth in vol. ix of the Camden Miscellany.
- Fol. 24. Copies of other letters and papers relating to Strafford made by Dr. Knowler, but not published by him
- Fol. 103. List of MSS. at Wentworth Woodhouse
- Fol. 111. Collation of a MS. relating to the Parliament of 1628-9
- Fol. 130. Notes on persons mentioned in the Strafford correspondence
- Fol. 152. List of the letters contained in the Strafford MSS.
- Fol. 172. Calendar of the contents of various volumes of the Strafford MSS.
