(MS. Add. A. 81, fol. 36.) 'Humfredi Hodii Historia Linguæ Græcæ et Instaurationis Literarum humaniorum cum primorum eorum Instauratorum vitis et elogiis:' this is an inaugural lecture of the Professor of Greek at Oxford (1698), and is an introduction to (fol. 96) 'H. H. De Italis illustribus Linguæ Græcæ et Literarum humaniorum ante Constantinopolis excidium cultoribus ac instauratoribus, eorum vitis scriptis et elogiis libri vi, in quibus permulta e codd. MSS.' Bk. 1 begins at fol. 97, bk. 2 at fol. 195, bk. 3 at fol. 269, bk. 4 at MS. Add. A. 82, fol. 1 (but the title is in MS. Add. A. 81, fol. 368), bk. 5 at MS. Add. A. 83, fol. 2, bk. 6 at fol. 230. This set of praelectiones is quite distinct from Hody's De Græcis illustribus, Lond. 1742.
