Three sets of collections by the rev. John Watson (d. 1783)

  1. (fol. 2) 'Collections relating to Lancashire made by me I: Watson, M.A. & F.S.A., 1762', consisting of a copy of part of 'A topographical description of the parish of Warton [near Lancaster] and some parts adjacent ... wrote by Mr. John Lucas ...' in 1710-44 (fol. 3), with an index, and some Lancashire pedigrees in narrative form, copied in 1771-8 (fol. 27v). At fol. 44 is a coloured drawing of the Sandpit in the parish of Ordsall.
  2. (fol. 49) 'Roman, British, Saxon, and other Remains in. Great Britain and Ireland, 1759', chiefly excerpts from the Gentleman's Magazine. At fol. 49v is an etching of the rev. John Watson.
  3. (fol. 71) Several lists of arms borne by English families, in alphabetical order of names, but partly divided according to the tincture of the field and by the county.
