'Here begynnethe the boke of the devyne clowde of vnknowynge', in 75 chapters, without prologue: text beg. 'Gostly frynde in God I pray the': perhaps by Walter Hilton. Four treatises follow:

  1. (fol. 105v) 'Here followithe the pystell of pryvate cownsell, the whiche dependyth apon the forsayde Clowde', the prologue beg. 'Gostly frende in God, as towchinge thy inwarde occupation', presumably by the author of the Cloud;
  2. (fol. 138v) 'Here followeth a devowte treatyse of dyscerninge of spyrites', beg. 'For because that ther be dyvers kyndes';
  3. (fol. 146v) 'Herafter folowith a devowte treatyse callyd the pystle of prayer', beg. 'Goostly frynde in God, as towchinge thyne askynge of me';
  4. (fol. 155) 'Here followeth a devowte treatyse compylid by master waiter Hylton of the songe of aungells', beg. 'Dere brother in Christe, I haue vnderstandynge by thyne owne speche.'

On fol. iii is part of a (later) religious dialogue, beginning 'Knowest thou not, who thou art.'

Part of a leaf of a late 12th century Latin MS. on the ministry forms a fly-leaf to the volume.
