Other Finding Aids

Falconer Madan, et al., A summary catalogue of western manuscripts in the Bodleian Library at Oxford which have not hitherto been catalogued in the Quarto series (7 vols. in 8 [vol. II in 2 parts], Oxford, 1895-1953; reprinted, with corrections in vols. I and VII, Munich, 1980), vol. V, no. 27620.

Related Materials

Other volumes are MSS. Bodl. 322, 324-329.

There appear to have been two sets of registers of proceedings:

  1. one arranged by counties, with an index of counties only, of which all the present eight volumes, except MS. Bodl. 324, form part, covering July 1645-Dec. 1646, Oct. 1647-April 1653;
  2. and one arranged chronologically, with an index of every place affected, to which MS. Bodl. 324 belongs (covering Oct. 1646-April 1647), and also Brit. Mus. MSS. Add. 15669-71, covering Jan. 1645/6-Oct. 1646, May-Oct. 1647.

The difference in subject matter is not obvious, but the latter series appears to deal especially with personal matters such as petitions from, and payments to, aggrieved ministers: neither is a copy of the other, and both are original (see MS. Bodl. 322, p. 271c; MS. Bodl. 323, fol. 259b; MS. Bodl. 327, fol. 63, etc.).
