  3. (fol. 234) 'The Armes of the Nobilitie & Gentrie of the County of Devon', in roughly alphabetical order (Athelstan-Zouch)
  4. (fol. 279) a similar armory for Cornwall (Abew-Yearth).

At fol. 276 is a list of Devonshire families with the quarterings to which they have a right (beg. 'Acland quarters 1. Ratcliffe, 2. Hawkworthy', cf. MS. Top. Devon b. 5, fols. 256v [which is perhaps the original list] and 213): followed by an imperfect account of the family of Courtenay (fol. 277v).

Custodial History

This volume is stated in Sotheby's catalogue to be 'from copies out of the Herald's Office in 1659, and transcribed with some additions in 1741' and 'bequeathed by Fran. Worthy to Dr Wm. Hallett, Physician, in Exeter, of whose Executors, this with several of the preceding vols. was purchased by Dean Milles'.
