Transcript of Risdon's Survey of Devon with extracts, written in the 18th cent. partly by J. Milles
The basis of both this volume and MS. Top. Devon b. 3 is a transcript (on 346 pages) of Risdon's Survey of Devon, nearly agreeing with the printed edition. This was then doubly (in some places quadruply) interleaved, and on the inter-leaves were written:
- a transcript, in another hand, of sir William Pole's Survey of Devon, copied from an Anstis MS.
- various extracts from Devon inquisitions and other public records, in Dr. Milles's writing.
Up to p. 166 of Risdon's Survey, in the account of Shilstone. Prefixed is an index of place-names.
