A large number of papers, partly drafts of pieces of the projected history, partly notes, partly papers addressed to the author. Includes the following:
- (fols. 1-25) accounts of Blakeway's predecessors in the attempt to write a county history
- (fol. 26) the history proper
- (fol. 75) the Conquest
- (fol. 383)the Civil War.
There is practically nothing beyond A.D. 1700. At fol. 339 is a certified contemporary copy of 'A Commission of Musters within the Countie of Salop, contaynenge the hole instruccions therein' of A.D. 1580: and at fol. 429 a modern copy of 'A Great and Bloody Fight in Shropshire ... [part signed "Robert Jones"]' (London, printed for A: H: near Pye corner, 1648).
