Notebook, with French and Italian songs, late 17th cent.
Notebook used by two late 17th-cent. hands, probably pupil and teacher, containing theory of music in French and words and melodies of French and Italian songs. Fols. 24-25v contain music for a treble instrument in the pupil's hand. Fols. 27v-29 contain Latin carols in the teacher's hand, melody only.
Mostly anonymous but composers represented include Benedikt Lechler, J. B. Lully, Antonio Sartorio, G. A. Perti, Domenico Freschi, A. Scarlatti, P. A. Ziani and A. Steffani.
