'Iste libellus doctrinalis est collectus ex edificatoriis et multum notabilibus autoritatibus sacre scripture: Quid aliud necesse est nisi ut bona cognoscamus et mala', beg. 'Augustinus dicit ad fratres' (fol. 1). A collection of theological commonplaces chiefly from the Bible and the fathers, in four parts, with a contemporary table of contents referring to the original foliation in Roman numerals by the scribe.

Custodial History

Manuscript (74) was acquired by the Bodleian Library (8673).

(Fol. 1v) has in a 15th-cent. hand 'Pertinet iste liber conuentui sororum sancte Clare in Amstelred [Amsterdam]'. A detached sheet (fol. 103v) has in a late 15th-cent. hand a 'specialis memoria pro [animabus] Henrici et Gretta Grechta vxoris eius'. A torn printed label on the back has 'Pontificius M ...' (perhaps 16th cent.). The water-mark is a fish.
