'Hier beghindt een seer schoon boeck van den wijsen philosooph Sydrach die op aertrijch was duijsent iaeren voor Godts gheboorte, ende heeft ons beschreuen vier hondert ende vier en twintich questien, de welcke seer vremdt ende gheneechalycken sijn om te lesen, die den koninch Boctus den wijsen philosooph Sydrac vraechde'. Prol. beg. 'Dicke helbic die geue besconden' (fol. 1v) Introd. beg. 'Die voersienicheit ons heren des vaders almechtich' (fol. 11); text beg. 'Hier beghint di erste vraghe van desen boche'.

Custodial History
Formerly owned by Peeter Oris of Antwerp, whose comparisons of this MS. with the edition of 1496 are on fols. 10, 114v, dated Apr. 26, 1521. Fol. 1 has 'Ende hoort toe den Lieffhebber der boecken Peeter Oris' and (early 17th cent.) 'ende me Ari ... Boenes'.
