'In quatuor Georgicorum Virgilij libros per [?] B. C. argumenta et declarationes' (a rather later title): a commentary on the Georgics, with an index of the lemmata and a few later notes: a leaf is wanting at the end of the index, and one also at the end of the text.

Fol. iv is a 19th century paper by G. Negrini (1826?) suggesting that the whole is in the hand of, if not composed by, Battista Guarini (d. 1513), but this was seen by the writer himself in 1837 to be not likely; and Guarini is quoted in the later notes as expressing an opinion different from that of the commentary (e.g. fols. 5, 33, 123v), while the author (and probably writer) seems to be clearly stated to be 'B. C.'

The text beg. 'Quid faciat laetas segetes. Diuidimus in duas partes, in auctorem & opus. Auctorem intelligimus.'.

Custodial History

No. 'CXV' and 'Miscellanea tomo 12°' in some public library in Italy with which 'G. Negrini' was connected in 1826 and 1837, perhaps Ferrara. MS. no. 129 of the same library had been 'confrontato' with this MS., perhaps as being an autograph of Guarini. See MS. Add. A. 19.
