'Of the trew difference of the powre of a Kynge and the powre of the Churche, . and what is the uery trewthe and uertu of them bothe. An excellent worke:' a translation from the Latin, made by 'Jhon Phylpot' and dedicated to King Henry VIII. The whole may be in Philpot's own hand, to judge by the corrections, but is written in a formal hand.
This copy is signed by 'Math. Cant.' i.e. archbp. Parker, 1559-75 (Philpot was burnt in 1557), and endorsed by the archbp. 'To Gregory Seton in Paules church yeard at the signe of the Hedgehogge gyue thes.'.
