- An abridged version of the Confessio Amantis extending to the end of book i, in modern English verse, with prose epitomes of the omitted passages and explanatory footnotes
- Also (fol. 77) a modernised metrical version of Gower's 'Praise of Peace'
- At the end come miscellaneous notes, including 'Shakespeare's Story of the Caskets, its earliest known [Greek] form' (fol. 108), Gower's 'Balade moral of gode counseyle' transcribed from MS. Ashmole 59 (fol. 110)
- A note by E. W. B. Nicholson on the need of a new edition of Gower (fol. 122), etc.
