Letters and papers relating to Sir John de Mandeville (Jean de la Bourgogne). Modernised version of the English translation of Mandeville's travels (text as in J. O. Halliwell-Phillipps' 1869 edition), with explanatory footnotes, composed and written by E. W. B. Nicholson: beg. 'Forasmuch as the land beyond the sea': ends abruptly in chapter 6 'is 40 journeys to pass by desert'.
An interleaved copy of the 1869 printed edition, largely annotated by Mr. Nicholson, was similarly bequeathed by him, and has been referenced 206. e. 85.
